Lynne Bartlett

Short CV:

In the past Lynne taught colouring Anodised Aluminium at Bromley Adult Education College and recently Colouring Titanium at CreateStudio in Faversham.

As part of the celebrations of 20 years of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery Lynne features in a video on the ACJ You-Tube Channel demonstrating the colouring of titanium. Lynne has lectured to the Society of Jewellery Historians about the history of titanium and Chatelaines.

She has published a paper on Colour in Jewellery in issue 8 of "Cultura e Scienza del Colore - Color Culture and Science" journal.

Lynne is a jewellery designer/maker. Having originally studied chemistry and worked for many years in the Chemical Industry, jewellery is her second career.

The use of colour in jewellery has been a dominant theme in her work and she currently uses titanium and dyed anodised aluminium.

Lynne has exhibited at Desire in London, Landmark Art Fair, Farnham Festival of Crafts and Made at West Dean.


Who are your design heroes:

Her heroes are the unsung craftsmen who worked unacknowledged at the bench as well as celebrities such as Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

In theory time is needed to create but in fact ideas often come while walking around the city or on the crosstrainer at the gym.
